Financial Resources Group rolled out Rock the Street, Wall Street at Fort Mill High School late September. Designed to spark the interest of high school girls into financial literacy and careers in finance, the organization was founded 11 years ago and now has programs in 33 cities with 70+ on a waiting list due to it rising popularity! Fort Mill High School will be the first cohort in South Carolina.
Associates at Financial Resources Group are currently teaching approximately 20 volunteering students the curriculum, which is designed to rid anxieties around math and finance – and to make it interesting and exciting for participants. There will be five sessions overall and end with a field trip to LPL Financial’s headquarters.
Check out this video where Cindy Nagel interviews Sims Reeves, financial literacy teacher and school champion who initiated the program at Fort Mill High School, as well as two of the participating Senior class students. Also hear from Maura Cunningham, CEO and Founder of Rock the Street, Wall Street, with a congratulatory message to Fort Mill High School and Financial Resources Group.
