Marketing Tips for Promoting America Saves Week

Digital and Print Marketing Strategies to Reach Your Target Audience

Share Via:

Originating in 2007, America Saves Week has become an annual observance we acknowledge to help Americans commit to saving successfully. During the week of February 21st, individuals are encouraged to do a financial checkup that helps them get a clear visual on their finances, set goals for saving, and create a plan to work toward the goals they’ve set.

America Saves Week’s Daily themes are as follows:

  • Monday February 21, 2022 | Save Automatically
  • Tuesday, February 22, 2022 | Save for the Unexpected
  • Wednesday, February 23, 2022 | Save to Retire
  • Thursday, February 24, 2022 | Save by Reducing Debt
  • Friday, February 25, 2022 | Save as a Family

Promoting this idea among your clients and prospects has never been easier thanks to the helpful tools and resources available through LPL and Financial Resources Group. Below are several examples of how you can create an impactful awareness campaign around America Saves Week.

Social Media

LPL’s Social Media Content Library is a great starting point to capture relevant articles around these daily topics. Dedicate about 20 minutes of your day to browse through their content library and set up the articles you’d like to post for this week. Articles such as, Are You Prepared for Financial Surprises and Your Emergency Fund: How Big Should It Be? When Should You Use It? are great examples of available posts you could implement on the Tuesday the 22nd.  Don’t have time to research and set up?  No problem!  Assign your admin as a delegate to manage on your behalf!

If using non-original content, think about adding a comment to the post (your own advice, a personal story to share around that topic, etc.) to add a personalized touch to the message.  Don’t forget to include the hashtag #ASW2022 to your post to help boost your social media reach and engagement!

Email

The Automated Campaign Tool (ACT) is a great email marketing tool available through LPL’s Marketing on Demand (MOD) that you can also implement with a “set it and forget it approach”.  Utilizing the “Email Your Own Pre-Approved Content” section, you can set up emails around these daily topics to drip on your target audiences.

By leveraging Financial Resources Group’s Marketing Resource Library, you now have access to one of our newest features, “Past Financial and Lifestyle Topic” emails that were previously housed on ACT. Browse through our library’s “Resources” portal to find archived emails organized by target audience such as, No More Excuses, Start Saving Today and Money Saving Secrets of a Single Income Family, you can download immediately to implement.

Webinars/Seminars

Think about hosting an impactful webinar/seminar centered around saving. Available through our Marketing Resource Library, you will find topics such as Retirement Savings Challenges for Women and College Planning that help educate the importance of saving.  Additionally, MOD is another resource for webinars/seminars located in their Catalog’s “Business Essentials” section.

All webinars/seminars are pre-approved and come as complete kits that include the speakers notes, invitations, handouts, etc. saving you much time and effort.  Promote on social media to help raise awareness on the event and for our institution partners, not only can you share the posts to amplify the event, you can promote via a website banner on your homepage to help encourage attendance as well.

Direct Mail

For those clients and prospects that prefer a more traditional form of communication, you can send out letters, postcards, statement stuffers, etc., promoting the savings topic of your choosing. You can repurpose any of the content mentioned above into your desired print format. Also, browse through our Marketing Resource Library’s “Campaigns” portal for other savings-related campaign content such as Entering a New Investment Life Together, No Matter the Season of Your Life and Improving Your Credit Score.
