Financial Resources Group Investment Services entered into their spring mentorship program in collaboration with Rock the Street Wall Street (RTSWS) at Fort Mill High School. The initiative aims to provide mentorship opportunities for young female students interested in pursuing careers in finance and related fields.
RTSWS is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young women by providing them with financial literacy and education about career opportunities in the finance industry. Through partnerships with local schools, the organization seeks to bridge the gender gap in the field of finance by offering mentorship programs and workshops. Fort Mill High School is the first cohort in South Carolina.
The spring mentorship program pairs students with women professionals from the firm who are serving as mentors. These mentors offer guidance, support, and industry insights to help students explore various career paths within finance, develop essential skills, and gain a better understanding of the financial services industry. Topics mentors and students will cover will include career development and networking skills. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities and workshops designed to prepare them for future career opportunities.
The spring mentorship program will run through April and is the final stage of the financial literacy program for the 2023-2024 school year. The program kicked off in September with five teaching sessions – designed to rid anxieties around math and finance. The sessions were then followed by a field trip to LPL Financial’s headquarters.
Both Financial Resources Group and RTSWS are excited to see the positive impact that this collaboration will have on the students at Fort Mill High School and look forward to nurturing the next generation of finance professionals.
